Land plants provide 1/3 of our oxygen the rest comes from coral reefs and right now we have lost 50% of them in the last three decades. If we dont do anything about it our oceans can be gone by 2050 and yes maybe its a "long" time from now but most of us and our families will still be alive it can drastically affect all our lives and many experiences that we can have in the future. Many tourist places can be affected as well just like here in LA, Miami, Cancun, Fiji, and many other places because of the beaches that most people visit them for. Our tropical reefs are the most diverse marine ecosystem on earth giving shelter to thousands of our animal species. The corals build the reef structure and provide the basis for a functional reef, without corals reef are facing multiple stresses like pollution, over fishing, and just overall climate change. Also I feel that all the animals and planet will suffer a lot because this whole world is all these animals, human, and planet has .
A world without coral reefs means not only will we have less diverse and beautiful oceans but also be the most economic disaster for a lots of people. The impact of climate changing on the coral reefs was manifested by the third most global bleaching event in 2015 and 2016. So this event caused a massive death of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia but unfortunately there was a clear pattern of the bleaching events increasing to the point where now inadequate intervals for the corals to recover in between. But not only will the coral reefs and thousands of species will be effected by this tragedy but also will the fishers and tourist will lose their jobs.
Our corals have existed for over more than 400 million years but yet stressing and changes from the human activities are happening faster than were ability to adapt to this. So this is how we could save our coral reefs we have too conserve our water, keep our beaches clean, plant coral reefs like there is this group of young adult who have been planting more than 7000 reefs and these people are called "The Coral Reefs Gardeners" they have a donation funraiser online and have $59,000 and with that money have will keep on planting more more reefs around our oceans. So this is my essay about saving our coral reefs hopefully you learned something and help us save the coral reefs.
